The clock is ticking. After Saturday, February 20, prices for the LLL of NC Breastfeeding and Parenting Area Conference registration will increase by $10. We reduced the price from last year and, with this additional $10 early bird rate, the conference is exceptionally affordable this year.
Don't miss the opportunity to meet and hear the inspirational Marian Tompson, one of the co-Founders of LLL. Increase your breastfeeding knowledge by attending presentations by Diana West and Diane Wiessinger. Enjoy the company of other Leaders and mothers and fathers from across North Carolina as we come together in Charlotte for Breastfeeding: Nature's Health Plan. Register online by Saturday, February 20 to get our early bird rate. You may also mail your registration to Lisa Eller, Registrar, 3916 Pondfield Court, Greensboro, NC 27410. Announcing a special two-part Communication Skills Workshop (Please pass on
to Group members.) Communicating With Our Children Place: Holly Springs Dates: Wednesday, February 10, 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm and Sunday, February 28, 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm Open to: All La Leche League members and their spouses Cost: $20 per person for the six-hour workshop Effective communication skills are one of the most valuable tools a parent can employ in the process of raising healthy children. In this two-part workshop parents will learn how to employ effective communication skills within their families. Part 1 focuses on learning to listen to and understand children's feelings and examining ways to encourage children's independence and self-esteem. Part 2 focuses on encouraging children's cooperation. Parents will learn how to give praise and how to move children to action, and will also practice expressing their own feelings and setting limits. These techniques are applicable to any age children. Many parents find that the younger their children are, the easier it is, as parents, to build new skills within themselves. As at any LLL event, nursing babies are always welcome. Due to the intensive nature of the workshops parents may want to consider where their easily-able-to-separate children will be happiest. This workshop is limited to twelve participants and will be filled on a first come, first served basis. To RSVP please contact me at [email protected] If this workshop will not work for you, either because of place, dates or times, please contact the Communication Skills Department in order to schedule another workshop. We are flexible and eager to schedule workshops any time, any place! So please get in touch with us to let us know when and where you would like to schedule a communications skills workshop.
